However, because they were both dealing with cancer awareness, the replication could be forgiven. Everyone wanted a pink wristband to show their support of research and development to fight this deadly disease. Because these became popular on the market about the time other massive breast cancer awareness movements were taking place, it seemed like destiny that they would grow in popularity.
How are breast cancer wristbands doing now? For the most part, sales of the pink bracelets are still strong; however, it is no where close to it was when they first hit the market. This is due to several reasons. One is that the really gung-ho supporters have already bought theirs, their family’s, and all of their friends’ a breast cancer wristband and there is not much of a recurrent market for the items. The second reason is that the wristband market has become so diluted with mass-produced copy-cat versions that no one can keep them all straight. For every color of the rainbow, there is a wristband to support some other cause that has jumped on the bandwagon. In fact, there has probably not been any cause as successful as breast cancer wristbands since this entire thing started. However, people still want to be a part of the wristband movement and look stylish while supporting a worthwhile cause. Because of this, however, you should be very careful when ordering a wristband from a company and be certain it is legitimate and the funds will go to the proper cause.
